Grilled Calzone

I have enjoyed being more adventurous on my grill this summer.  After making a great pizza I decided to try a calzone and it made a great lunch.  I have found out that grills are not just for burgers and dogs, so be adventurous, go Italian!

Grilled Calzone

Pizza dough
Pizza sauce, Alfredo sauce or Pesto
Mozzarella cheese
Peperoni, grilled chicken, cooked sausage, ham
Olives, mushrooms, onions, spinach

Start your grill heating to 350 degrees. Meanwhile, roll out your dough, spread on your favorite sauce and toppings on one side. Fold the extra dough over the top and seal well. place on a cast iron pan and grill for 8 – 10 minutes. If the top doesn’t brown just flip it over for a minute or two.

  • Pizza dough
  • Pizza sauce, Alfredo sauce or Pesto
  • Mozzarella cheese
